A crack-opening-dependent numerical model for self-healing cementitious materials

A new damage-healing model for self-healing cementitious materials is described. The formulated using results from a discrete ligament and guided by the findings of linked experimental study. Healing simulated interaction curing fronts propagating opposing crack faces within body healing-agent. This approach accounts dependency healing response on opening displacement (COD) its rate. cohesive-zone applied to an element with embedded strong-discontinuity coupled finite-element code, which simulates healing-agent transport mechanical behaviour. validated data tests different CODs COD rates. validations show that represents flow behaviour autonomic system good accuracy range cracking configurations load paths.
